Stephen’s journey in the commercial banking sector began in 2011 when he took on the role of Loan Administrator & Portfolio Manager at Main Street Bank (formerly Marlborough Savings Bank). Over the years, he demonstrated his dedication and expertise, rising through the ranks to become an Assistant Vice President (AVP) and Portfolio Manager at United Bank. In this role, he played a vital part in supporting Commercial & Industrial (C&I) lenders by facilitating business development, overseeing loan servicing, and effectively managing portfolios.
In 2018, Stephen returned to Main Street Bank, now in the capacity of a lender. His wealth of experience spans across various domains, including commercial real estate, construction, C&I, non-profit, and franchise lending. It’s a testament to his knowledge and commitment to the industry.
In recognition of his outstanding contributions and leadership, Stephen was promoted to Senior Vice President (SVP) and Commercial Lending Team Leader in 2023, a position that exemplifies his dedication to our clients and his role in driving our commercial banking success.
Stephen is not just a dedicated professional but an active community member as well. He has a strong commitment to giving back and has volunteered at the Boy’s & Girls Clubs of Marlborough/Hudson, making a positive impact on the lives of local youth. He’s also an enthusiastic member of the Worcester Young Businessmen’s Association, actively contributing to the growth and development of the local business community. Previously, he was a proud member of Rotary International in Marlborough, where he exemplified the spirit of service.
Beyond his professional and community engagements, Stephen takes on another important role as the head coach of his son’s little league baseball team since 2021, nurturing young talents on and off the field.
Community banking runs in Stephen’s blood. His grandfather, James Langway, served as the past President at Hudson National/Community National Bank in Hudson, MA. You could say community banking is a tradition in his family, and Stephen carries the legacy forward with passion and dedication.
In his free time, Stephen finds joy in spending precious moments with his wife, and their two sons. They bond over outdoor adventures, including camping, snowboarding, and mountain biking, creating cherished memories that last a lifetime.
