November is the month of thanks. And on Saturday, November 25, America will have the opportunity to thank one of the most important contributors to the United States economy — small businesses. Small businesses are the engines that power our national economy, making up nearly 65% of the U.S. workforce private sector jobs. In fact, small businesses are so important and valued that there’s now a national day to honor them — Small Business Saturday.

Conceived in November 2010 by American Express to coincide with Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Small Business Saturday was created to encourage consumers to give business to small, local, brick and mortar businesses.
